I suspect we are nearing the end, as the plagues upon Egypt can't get much worse. This is very reminiscent of some of the plagues in the end times, talked about in Revelation. When I get there in a couple of years I will try to remember to refer back here and compare them.
The darkness that falls on Egypt in the later parts of this chapter is especially creepy, and really hard to imagine. Sometimes when I read things like this in the Bible I think it would make for a pretty amazing TV show - and that would be a pretty cool outreach tool, if done well.

Hey, this is a bit off topic, but I would really appreciate if you guys could keep us in your prayers. Bizzy's job just evaporated because their main investor lost pretty much everything in the stock market, so we're looking at some possibly rough times in the near future. I'm confident God will deliver us, just like with the Hebrews (look, it relates!), but right now, it seems like that darkness plague has come again. Love you all,

First to William. I stand by your comments. How awfully creepy would it be to experience the darkness. I really enjoyed Tim LaHaye's & Jerry Jenkins' portrayal of the end time plagues and especially the darkness one in the Left Behind series. Whether you believe how they mapped out the end times or not, their illustrations with the word are phenomenal.
